This charming begonia excels in an unusual feature. As its epithet, Hairy Spots, suggests, each of its bright pink spots has hairs, exactly one hair sticking up. Unlike some other begonia species, it also retains its spot pattern into adulthood, although the colors of the spots may fade somewhat as it matures. Because it is compact in size and prefers high humidity, it is also well suited for keeping in a terrarium or plant display case.
