Alocasia Stingray rhizome/bulb to grow yourself. You will receive 1 x bulb. The picture of the plant is only an example picture to illustrate what can develop from these rhizomes/bulbs. Place the container with the bulb in a warm and bright place. With a little patience, the rhizome will sprout after a few weeks.

Due to the similarity of its leaves to the cartilaginous fish of the same name, it is not difficult to guess where the Alocasia Stingray gets its name from. This makes this unique plant a speciality among the Alocasia species. It thrives particularly well in semi-shady locations and is a real must-have for collectors of unusual plants.

What is the best way to grow these rhizomes into established plants?
First of all, you need a suitable medium in which the rhizome can grow.
There are various methods for this, some of which you can also find in our store.
    - Cultivation soil
    - water
    - Sphagnum moss Info: Ben's Premium Sphagnum Moss comes from sustainable and certified cultivation.
    - Perlite
    - Expanded clay

1. the bulb should point upwards with the small light-colored tip and be completely embedded in the respective substrate. You should ensure that the substrate is always kept slightly moist, but not wet. We therefore advise against cultivating in water, as there is a significantly higher risk that the tubers will rot and not sprout.
2. place the container with the tuber in a warm and bright place.
3. with a little patience, the rhizome will sprout after a few weeks.
A little tip: When you receive our bulbs, some of them will still be surrounded by a slightly harder, dark skin. You can simply remove this carefully with your fingernail. Experience has shown that this accelerates the growth of the rhizome.

Ben's tips on plant care:

• Location/Light requirements: Partial shade or indirect sunlight
• Substrate: Ben's Syngonium & Alocasia Soil
• Temperature: optimum at 27° C (day), 16° C (night)
• Watering: keep moist and water as soon as the top layer of substrate starts to dry, but avoid waterlogging
• Humidity: needs high humidity, place in bathroom or use humidifier
• Nutrient addition: in spring/summer every 4-8 weeks with organic fertiliser. Fertilise moderately with organic liquid fertiliser.
• Repot when the soil is densely rooted.
• Avoid waterlogging at all costs, otherwise the roots of the plant may rot.
