Sellaginella spec. variegata is one of the most beautiful tropical ferns of all, the fronds are shimmering and variegated. It thrives in terrariums with high humidity and temperatures of 20 to 30°C. Vegetative propagation is easily possible by cutting off the rhizome, also ideal for paludariums with a waterfall.

With its delicately feathered and silvery shimmering fronds, which are all individually variegated, this enchanting Selaginella fern is a real tropical beauty. In the wild, it often grows on the slopes of rivers and streams and therefore also prefers a similarly moist environment in terrarium culture.

Ben's tips on plant care:

- Location/light requirements: partial shade to light, but avoid direct sunlight
- Substrate: very loose, permeable substrate such as Xaxim litter or Ben's Premium Sphagnum moss
- Temperature: optimal at 22-28° C (day), 18-20° C (night)
- Watering: water moderately with low-lime, lukewarm water. Avoid complete drying out as well as waterlogging.
- Humidity: requires high humidity, place in terrarium
- Addition of nutrients: fertilize moderately every 4 weeks in spring/summer with diluted liquid fertilizer. Avoid over-fertilization at all costs.
- Avoid draughts.
- Repot after approx. 1-2 years when the substrate is sufficiently dense.
