Tillandsia dyeriana ist Endemisch in Ecuador und gehört zu den Tillandsien die stark an eine Bromelie erinnern.
Die Blüte ähnelt einer Helikonienblüte. Im Terrarium sollte diese Art epiphytisch aufgebunden werden, es eignet sich dazu Shagnummoos.
Warme Temperaturen und Luftfeuchtigkeit von 70 - 90% sind ideal. Sie verträgt es auch etwas trockener.
