The centers of the large leaves of this remarkable Caladium look like spicy salsa sauce, which is why its cultivators gave it this obvious name. Because it is so easy to care for, it is also suitable for beginners, but it should be noted that it sheds its leaves in winter and survives as a bulb.
The product photos show examples of the plant. You will receive a specimen that corresponds to the product photos in terms of size, shape and color.

Ben's tips on plant care:

The bulb should be placed in a bright location (windowsill or under artificial light) about 3cm deep in potting soil and kept permanently moist (not wet!) and warm (above 20° C) for new sprouting.
- Habitat/Light Requirements: Partial shade, indirect sunlight
- Substrate: green plant soil mixed with two parts peat
- Temperature: optimal at 25° C (day), 21° C (night)
- Watering: keep moist and water as soon as the top layer of substrate begins to dry, but avoid waterlogging at all costs, ideally water with rainwater that is not too cold and has a low lime content
- Humidity: needs high humidity, avoid heating air, spray regularly
- Nutrient addition: in the growth phase approx. every 2-3 weeks with strongly diluted organic fertilizer. Fertilize moderately with highly diluted organic liquid fertilizer.
- Repot when the soil is densely rooted.
- Discards foliage in winter and must survive as a bulb. Then either hibernate with little soil in the dark or otherwise water sparingly only every 4 weeks.
