This philodendron, which is rarely found in the trade, makes a truly majestic appearance. As a hybrid of the two Philodendron species sodiroi and verrucosum, it combines their most attractive characteristics, namely the large heart shape of the leaves, their velvety texture and the delicate, silvery variegation. The undersides of the leaves also shimmer in a pretty shade of red when new shoots emerge, which is intensely pronounced depending on the location. Like most philodendrons, it grows climbing and can develop its full splendor if climbing supports are provided.
