This tradescantia is an unusual rarity with its fluffy, hairy leaves that are streaked with dark and yellow-green stripes. But it's not just its leaves that make it a decorative sight, the pretty purple flowers that the adult plant produces are also a real eye-catcher.

Ben's tips on plant care:

- Location/light requirements: partial shade to light
- Substrate: well-drained, nutrient-rich substrate (ensure drainage)
- Temperature: optimal at 18-20° C (day), can overwinter at 12-15° C (but not cooler!)
- Watering: in spring/summer, water approx. every 10 days when the top layers of the substrate start to dry, using lukewarm water with little lime, but avoid waterlogging. Water less in fall/winter.
- Humidity: requires higher humidity, place in a bathroom terrarium or spray regularly (leaves should be allowed to dry afterwards!)
- Addition of nutrients: In spring, use slow-release fertilizer for regular fertilization.
- Good drainage is important, as the plant can easily rot if waterlogged.
