This miniature orchid rightly bears its popular name The Beautiful Tailed Lepanthes, as its 5 mm flowers impress with their beautiful appearance. But the leaves of this Lepanthes are also impressive, offering an attractive sight with their dark purple markings and bright green leaf edges. As it grows as an epiphyte on trees at altitudes of 1300 to 1900 meters in Ecuador, it also prefers to be kept in terrariums in a tied-up form and in a rather moist and cool temperate environment.

Ben's tips on plant care:
- Location/light requirements: partial shade to shade
- Substrate: tied to Xaxim or in well-drained orchid substrate with good drainage
- Temperature: optimal at 17-20° C (day), 14-17° C (night)
- Watering: Spray regularly when tied up, but allow leaves to dry out well. Otherwise only water moderately when the substrate is thoroughly dry. Only use lukewarm water with a low lime content. Avoid waterlogging at all costs.
- Humidity: requires high humidity, use a humidifier or place in the terrarium
- Addition of nutrients: in the winter months, fertilize only very moderately every 3 weeks with diluted orchid fertilizer.
- The growing season and main flowering period is in the winter months, which is why the Lepanthes requires somewhat more care during this time.
