Die Lepanthes hugomedinae ist eine außergewöhnliche Miniaturorchidee aus Ecuador, die erst 2023 offiziell beschrieben wurde. Sie gehört zur Gattung Lepanthes, die für ihre winzigen, kunstvoll geformten Blüten bekannt ist – oft mit intensiven Farben und komplexer Struktur.

Herkunft & Lebensraum
Ursprung: Ecuador, speziell die Region Morona-Santiago

Wuchsform: Epiphytisch – wächst auf Bäumen in feuchten Nebelwäldern

Höhenlage: Etwa 1200 m über dem Meeresspiegel

Lebensraum: Tropisch-feuchtes Biotop mit hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit

Größe: Sehr klein – ideal für Mini-Terrarien oder spezielle Orchideen-Vitrinen

Blüten: Winzig, aber komplex – typisch für die Gattung Lepanthes

Wuchs: Kompakt, mit kurzen Trieben und einzelnen Blättern pro Spross

Temperatur: Kühl bis intermediär (ca. 16–22 °C)

Licht: Gedämpftes Licht, keine direkte Sonne

Feuchtigkeit: Hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit (80–100 %), ideal mit Hygrolon oder Moosunterlage

Substrat: Am besten aufgebunden auf Xaxim, Hygrolon oder in kleinen Töpfen mit feinem Epiphytenmix
