In the wild, the leaves of this remarkable Alocasia can reach a length of almost one metre. In indoor cultivation, it remains smaller, but still impresses with its stately leaves that add real tropical flair to any living room.

Ben's tips on plant care:
• Habitat/light requirements: semi-shade or bright, indirect sunlight.
• Substrate: later peat-free potting soil, Ben's Syngonium & Alocasia Soil
• Temperature: optimum at 18-22° C (day), 12-15° C (night)
• Watering: Keep soil moist but avoid waterlogging, ideally water with rainwater that is not too cold and low in lime. Water less in winter.
• Humidity: needs high humidity, place in the bathroom or use a humidifier.
• Nutrient addition: in spring/summer every 3 weeks with organic fertiliser. Liquid fertiliser
• Grows fast, annual repotting in February/March is recommended.
• Avoid waterlogging at all costs, otherwise the roots of the plant may rot.
