The Alocasia Silver Dragon has a very compact growth habit and is therefore perfect for keeping in the terrarium. Its heart-shaped leaves have a leathery texture and its contrasting colouring of silver-green areas with dark veining make the plant stand out impressively.

Ben's tips on plant care:
• Position/light requirements: full sun to partial shade
• Substrate: Ben's Babyplant Soil, special soil, later Ben's Syngonium & Alocasia Soil
• Temperature: optimum at 18-22° C (day), 12-15° C (night)
• Watering: Keep soil moist, but avoid waterlogging, ideally water with rainwater that is not too cold and has a low lime content.
• Humidity: needs high humidity, place in bathroom or use humidifier
• Nutrient addition: in spring/summer every 3 weeks with organic fertiliser. Liquid fertiliser
• Grows fast, annual repotting in February/March is recommended.
• Ensure high humidity, ideally spray the plant once a week. It is better to cut off any flowers on young plants, otherwise the plant can rot easily.
